TO CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TWINNING BETWEEN LIMERICK AND QUIMPER, A CROSS CULTURAL ART EXHIBITION TAKES PLACE AT THE BELLTABLE ARTS CENTRE ON TUESDAY 01/11/2011 18.00 UNTIL THURSDAY 03/11/2011 22.00 THIS EXHIBITION FEATURES ARTISTS FROM BOTH CITIES; INCLUDING CURRENT AND EX STAFF AND STUDENTS OF LIMERICK SCHOOL OF ART AND DESIGN.

A big thanks to Gerry and Aoife at THE BELLTABLE ARTS CENTRE LIMERICK for donating the space to the LIMERICK - QUIMPER CROSS CULTURAL ART EXHIBITION on Tuesday 01 November at 6pm until Thursday 03 November 2011 10pm.

THIS EXHIBITION IS AN ARTS INTERVENTION TO CELEBRATE THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TWINNING BETWEEN LIMERICK AND QUIMPER
Coincidentally, THE BELLTABLE ARTS CENTRE LIMERICK also celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Call for artists living, studying or working in Limerick (including current and ex students and staff of Limerick School of Art and Design).

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the twining between Limerick and Quimper, and to foster on-going cultural relations between the two cities, we are inviting submissions from artists in any medium to take part in a cross-cultural open themed exhibition in both cities.
The first exhibition will take place in Limerick from Tuesday 01/11/2011 until Thursday 03/11/2011 inclusive; this exhibition will comprise of artists from both cities. The corresponding exhibition in Quimper will be from Tuesday 08/11/2011 until Thursday 10/11/2011 inclusive.
The artists will be encouraged to travel to Quimper as a group, and stay for the duration of the exhibition (one week including travel). Travel itinerary and costs to be confirmed later.

The Art in the Making collective under the auspices of the Avant festival Cork, are having an exhibition of film shorts at the 'GuestHouse' 10, Chapel Street, Cork City, on Friday 8th July from 19:00-22:00 and Saturday 9th July 18:00-21:00

The exhibition theme is: "The Thin Line Between Documentary and Film" and there will be a panel discussion after the screenings. The chair of the panel will be Max Le Cain, filmmaker, and Director of Cork Film Centre and editor of 'Experimental Conversations' he is also joined by Fiona Woods, David Brancaleone, Shane Harrington, Gimena Blanco, and Mary Conlon. Some of the film contributors will also be there to discuss their work.

Scrumptious nibbles will be available on both nights, so come early and avoid disappointment!
