marlene dumas, kara walker, david goldberg, got some images of these artists work, i am especially interested in the work of dumas, i would like to investigate this kind of work further. got more images from the library; war images, radiation burns etc.
painted my new jigsaws. got image of homer simpson, he's my new multicultural man ( i had originally wanted to use the george bush image, i drew him ( quite well i thought ) then asked people who they thought he was , no one seemed to recognise that it was bush, with the exception of aine, the head of painting !!! so i deceided on homer j, you can't go too far wrong there!

bought some stuff in hickeys, a brroch to stick onto my painting, and some sparkling felt. got 3 jigsaws in the pound shop ( why don't they call it the one euro and twenty seven cent shop ) ironically they were 3 euro in the 2euro shop! to carry on with my multicultural man. had introduction to video etc, would have preferred to do one on my own, but they obviously do not have enough cameras to go around, so we are in pairs. i have ended up with marian, so that's ok.

started 2nd jigsaw (multicultural man) painted it with black ink, realised then that the jigsaw pieces are different sizes, so it won't work, will have to get ones the same size. painted the front of the jigsaw to see what effect i could get, i painted eee-aw and his mates in black ink, it looks effective if somewhat a little sinister, i put the caption " WHAT ARE YOU FUCKING LOOKING AT" to the piece, it really has transformed the image completely. used tracing paper for the multicultural man, it has to be precise on all three jigsaws, so it made sense to do it that way.
